Kat Kempe

Katherine, “Kat”, brings over 15 years of experience in community engagement, coalition building, advocacy campaign management, public policy, and project implementation. Kat’s extraordinary breadth of communications competencies enables her to contribute to client success in many ways.

In her most recent activity, she has led an interagency technology working group and directs stakeholder engagement activities for open innovation programs throughout the federal government. In her prior work, Kat led the strategic direction and daily operation of efforts for a national initiative to advance the early childhood education profession. This role’s responsibilities included stakeholder and community engagement, coalition building, meeting and event planning, research and data analysis, policy implementation, and communications.

Previously, Kat has overseen grassroots advocacy for a successful state policy campaign; managed outreach and media relations for various nonprofit organizations; and developed and supported numerous coalitions, panels, and task forces. She possesses a wide knowledge of local, state and national education legislation; and has participated in a variety of state policy work groups to ensure policymakers and researchers promote policies and systems that reflect the needs of the communities they serve. Kat is motivated to look for opportunities to increase connections among people and elevate their stories.
