Senior Program Manager

Location: Alexandria, VA / Job Type: Full Time Employee or Independent Contractor / Experience: 7-10 years / Education: Graduate Degree preferred

Kaptivate is looking for an experienced, talented and highly motivated individual to join our Customer Experience Strategy team in Alexandra, VA.

 

As a Senior Program Manager you will own and contribute to programs that measure customers’ end-to-end experience. You will drive programs across multiple product lines, channels, and media partnering with senior business leaders and government executives in developing programs and following-up on actionable findings. The role will allow you to make a real impact for our clients from Day 1 and provide a dynamic, innovative and fast-paced environment to constantly build your skill set and address new challenges.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage ambiguity: Understand complex business problems across business units, geographies and product lines to create hypotheses and translate this understanding into analysis requirements and identify meaningful insights that help our clients improve their customer experiences.
  • Program Management: Lead large and complex programs, including: scope alignment with local and international business leaders, design, data collection, data analysis, recommendations and presenting results to senior management.
  • Stakeholder management: Build strong relations with stakeholders to understand priorities, define the roadmap and to collaborate and work with them on programs and actions to improve our customers experience.
  • Team: Support hiring and onboarding of new team members and contribute to our high performance culture.
  • Share best practices and results: Drive continuous improvement for our team both commercial and government; Partner with colleagues to identify areas for collaboration and best practices.

Data Scientist

Location: Alexandria, VA / Job Type: Full Time Employee or Ind. Contractor / Experience: 5+ years / Education: Graduate Degree.  Ph.D preferred
 

Kaptivate is looking for an exceptional data scientist to synthesize and leverage massive datasets of customer (and constituent) interactions to enhance the customer experience with our client brands. This is a unique opportunity to join a new, multidisciplinary team of creative and passionate individuals. We are focused on helping our clients simplify their complex challenges, and work on high-impact projects using big data analytics and machine learning to improve their customer interactions. Kaptivate works in quick iterations, using the techniques and algorithms best suited for solving the challenging problems of faced by our clients in the private, public, and non-profit sectors.

 

You will advocate, evangelize and build data-fuelled products that help our clients improve their customer interactions and overall experience with their brands. You’ll dig in and become an expert on our client datasets. You will provide insight into leading analytic practices, design and lead iterative learning and development cycles, and ultimately produce new and creative analytic solutions that will become part of our core deliverables.

 

You will work with cross-functional team members to identify and prioritize actionable, high-impact insights across a variety of core business areas. You will lead applied analytics initiatives that are leveraged across the breadth of our solutions. You will research, design, implement and validate cutting-edge algorithms to analyze diverse sources of data to achieve targeted outcomes.

 

As our data scientist, you will provide expertise on mathematical concepts for the broader applied analytics team and inspire the adoption of advanced analytics and data science across the entire breadth of our organization.

 

The right candidate will:

 

  • Have a Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in operations research, applied statistics, data mining, machine learning, physics or a related quantitative discipline. You have a deep understanding of statistical and predictive modeling concepts, machine-learning approaches, clustering and classification techniques, and recommendation and optimization algorithms.
  • Have 5+ years of experience delivering world-class data science outcomes, you solve complex analytical problems using quantitative approaches with your unique blend of analytical, mathematical and technical skills.
  • Be passionate about asking and answering questions in large datasets, and you are able to communicate that passion to product managers and engineers. You have a keen desire to solve business problems, and live to find patterns and insights within structured and unstructured data. You propose analytics strategies and solutions that challenge and expand the thinking of everyone around you.
  • Be expert in analyzing large, complex, multi-dimensional datasets with a variety of tools. You are accomplished in the use of statistical analysis environments such as R, MATLAB, SPSS or SAS. You have experience with BI tools such as Tableau and Microstrategy. You’re as comfortable with relational databases as you are with Hadoop-based data mining frameworks. You are familiar with SQL, Python, Java and C/C++.
